Two mechanical system design experts take a holistic view of chillers and chilled water systems

Chiller and chilled water systems are key to many different building types. Large venues like entertainment facilities drive a lot of industry standards, and require mechanical engineers to think holistically. Energy efficiency, decarbonization and electrification are some of the buzzwords discussed by Eric Taylor and Ben Weigand from Henderson Engineers.

 

 

Eric Taylor, PE, LEED AP, has 15 years of experience in mechanical systems design. As a technical manager and mechanical engineer at Henderson Engineers, he oversees engineering calculations, quality control, construction document development, control drawing development and specification writing, in addition to mentoring and directing up-and-coming mechanical designers. His extensive project experience spans a wide range of industries including sports venues, luxury retail, grocery, and restaurants.

Ben Weigand, PE, is a technical manager and mechanical engineer at Henderson Engineers. With 15 years of industry experience, he has extensive experience designing building systems for projects nationwide for a variety of industries. This includes health care, high-end retail, higher education, hospitality and sports venues. In his present role, Weigand oversees engineering calculations, quality control, construction document development, control drawing development and specification writing, in addition to mentoring and directing up-and-coming mechanical designers.
