In order to increase the impact of the LEED Green Building Rating System on reducing building energy-related greenhouse gas emissions, USGBC is proposing that all LEED projects be required to achieve two “Optimize Energy Performance” points towards LEED certification. Per the LEED development process, USGBC is now seeking member approval of the proposed change.
Member ballot is the final step in consensus process used to develop, test, evaluate, revise and publish LEED rating systems and credit mandates. Member firms are being
USGBC is seeking member approval to update all balloted commercial LEED Green Building Rating Systems with the following change:
All LEED projects are required to achieve two (2) Optimize Energy Performance points.ll go into effect June 26, 2007. The two mandatory points will count towards the project’s LEED certification. Project teams will be reminded of this change at time of registration, through LEED Online, and illustrated in the rating system and reference guide documents.
