SFPE’s Annual Conference and Expo Planned for October

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers will host its Annual Professional Development Conference and Exposition on Oct. 15 to Oct. 19 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This educational event for fire protection professional will include two days of presentations.

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) will host its Annual Professional Development Conference and Exposition on Oct. 15 to Oct. 19 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

This educational event for fire protection professional will include two days of presentations. Keynote speakers include:

• John L. Bryan — Department of Fire Protection Engineering, University of Maryland

• Ronny J. Coleman — Emergency Services Consulting & Former California State Fire Marshal

• Charles Fleischmann — Department of Civil Engineering, University of Canterbury

• Jose L. Torero — Professor, The University of Edinburgh

• Kevin B. McGrattan — United States National Institute for Standards & Technology

“The keynote speakers for this year’s event are some of the most authoritative and well respected names in the field of fire protection,” said Chris Jelenewicz, engineering program manager at SFPE. “They will lead sessions along with dozens of other presentations that will make this a truly unique educational opportunity.”

Also included in this event is the Engineering Technology Exposition that will be held on Oct. 16. More than 40 of the leading fire protection organizations will exhibit their products and services. This year’s expo also will include a series of exhibitor presentations that will feature state-of-the-art advancements in fire protection technology.

The event also will include four days of seminars in a wide range of fire protection engineering topics including:
