Nonresidential building LEED certification surpasses 2 billion sq ft
The total footprint of commercial projects certified under the U.S. GBC LEED green building program has surpassed 2 billion sq ft.
The U.S. Green Building Council (U.S. GBC) has announced that the total footprint of commercial projects certified under its LEED green building program has surpassed 2 billion sq ft. An additional 7 billion sq ft is currently in the pipeline across the globe as registered projects.
LEED is certifying 2 million sq ft of commercial building space each day in more than 130 countries. Today, nearly 50,000 commercial projects are currently participating in LEED, comprising 9 billion sq ft of construction space.
