M/E Insider: EYP Announces Southern Expansion; RJA Gains New Director
• EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Inc. has announced a strategic plan for expanding operations in the southeast, and has hired two new principals— James S. Coe, PE, RCDD and Benjamin F. Coe, Jr. PE, LEED AP —to lead the effort. The firm will introduce Jim Coe and Ben Coe to the region at its Atlanta Technical Seminar—”Reliability and Energy Efficiency… Can They Coexist?”—on April 26.
• The RJA Group, Inc. announced that Jack Brady has rejoined the company as director of government services and will be based out of the firm’s Baltimore, Md. office. Brady will be responsible for business development, sales and project/program management for all aspects of RJA’s involvement in federal government services.
• Management consulting and engineering firm R.W. Beck, Inc. has appointed Frank Gaffney as an owner. Gaffney is based in the firm’s Orlando office and has more than 20 years of experience in technical power systems and the electric power market.
• Dr. George E. Mattingly is the recipient of the 2005 Laurance Reid Award in recognition of his long-standing efforts to advance flow measurement technology and understanding. This award cites three specific areas where Dr. Mattingly has advanced flow measurement: round robin flow measurement methods, flow meter installation effects and improved flow meter characterization techniques. Dr. Mattingly is currently an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where he teaches fluid mechanics and flow metrology.
• Green Building Services , Portland, Ore., has added two new LEED-accredited architects to its staff: Kathleen Haapala, LEED AP , project manager for the sustainable consulting practice, and Vaibhav Potnis, LEED AP , building analyst. Haapala helps clients achieve their green building goals including LEED certification. Potnis provides technical services such as energy modeling, computational fluid dynamics and daylighting analysis to develop high-performance buildings.
