Abstract: The prevalence of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) distributed generation systems has fostered an interest in verifying both the electricity and heat utilized by customers receiving tax incentives offered by state and federal energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. This presentation discusses typical system configurations, accuracy considerations, and regulatory guidelines for counting thermal energy credits, including the role of third-party verification and commissioning.
