WSP Global (Montreal, Canada) has announced that it has entered into a stock purchase agreement with Balfour Beatty to acquire Parsons Brinckerhoff (New York, NY), the professional services division of Balfour Beatty for an enterprise value of $1.24 billion. The deal adds 13,500 employees to WSP's network of 17,500 employees worldwide. Link to details

Global professional services corporation, Louis Berger (Morristown, NJ) acquired Leidos Engineering's (Reston, VA) Water and Waste Resource division. The division will be integrated into Louis Berger's U.S.-based operating company, The Louis Berger Group, Inc. Link to details

Stantec (Edmonton, Canada) signed a letter of intent to acquire Penfield & Smith (Santa Barbara, CA), a 90-person civil engineering and land planning firm. The transaction is expected to close in October. Link to details

Leading innovator in water, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous water engineering solutions, Tata & Howard (Marlborough, MA) acquired the assets of Roald Haestad (Waterbury, CT), a civil engineering consulting firm.
