Structural engineering firm, Weidlinger Associates (New York, NY) (ENR #201) merged with Thornton Tomasetti (New York, NY) (ENR #71), a provider of engineering design, investigation, and analysis services. The combined firm will have 1,200 employees and 10 practices, allowing it to deliver a broader range and higher level of service to its clients. Link to details


GPO Group (Barcelona, Spain) formalized its partnership with Sam Schwartz Consulting (New York, NY) to acquire 30% of its capital with an agreement to reach the 60% in the coming years. Sam Schwartz is a consulting and engineering company specialized in mobility and transport services. Link to details


S.W. Cole Engineering (Bangor, ME) acquired the construction materials testing division of EIV Technical Services (Williston, VT). S.W. Cole Engineering is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that provides geotechnical engineering, geoenvironmental services, ecological consulting and construction materials testing services. ENR's #122 ranked environmental firm, Versar (Springfield, VA) acquired Johnson Controls' (Milwaukee, WI) specialized federal security integration business, Johnson Controls Security Systems (JCSS) (Gaithersburg, MD). Versar is a global project management company that provides sustainable solutions to government and commercial clients in construction management, environmental services, munitions response, and energy.
