1/13/2014

International engineering, consulting and project management services firm AMEC (London, UK) has provisionally agreed to acquire global engineering, construction and project management contractor and power equipment supplier Foster Wheeler (Zug, Switzerland) for $3.2 billion. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2014, and is subject to AMEC shareholder approval and regulatory and anti-trust approvals. Link to details

Global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm NELSON (Philadelphia, PA) has acquired full service professional engineering firm Brinjac Engineering (Harrisburg, PA). The deal was effective January 1, 2014 and Brinjac will now brand itself as Brinjac Engineering, A NELSON Company. Global technical, professional, and construction services firm Jacobs Engineering (Pasadena, CA) has acquired the majority of the assets of construction firm Stobbarts Limited (West Cumbria, United Kingdom).  The acquisition brings added capabilities in nuclear, decommissioning, construction and civil engineering and adds 300 field services staff to Jacobs' operations in West Cumbria. Link to details

Southern California Soil & Testing (SCS&T) (San Diego, CA) has been acquired by Neal Clements (San Diego, CA), formerly the principal engineer of geotechnical engineering firm G-Force. Clements said SCS&T and G-Force will enter into a long-term partnership offering geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and construction inspection services to a variety of clients and industries throughout California. Link to details
