M&A Transactions 


Jacobs (Pasadena, CA) (ENR #2) acquired J.L. Patterson & Associates (Orange, CA), a consulting and professional services engineering firm specializing in rail planning, environmental permitting, design, and construction management. The acquisition enhances Jacobs' rail services capability, positioning the company in the top tier of rail professional service providers in North America. Link to details 


Project management, engineering, testing, and environmental firm, Raba Kistner (San Antonio, TX) (ENR #228) acquired Red River Archaeology (Dallas, TX), a firm specialized in providing cultural resource compliance services to multiple engineering and environmental consulting firms, as well as energy and transportation sector clients. Two design firms, Cooper Carry (Atlanta, GA) (ENR #244) and The Johnson Studio (Atlanta, GA) announced that they will join forces, effective Jan. 1, 2016. The Johnson Studio will retain its name and continue to focus on interior design and interior architecture for hospitality and stand-alone restaurant projects. Link to details


Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) (Chicago, IL) agreed to acquire Big Red Rooster (Columbus, OH), a brand experience and retail design services company that creates multi-dimensional experiences for the world's top retailers and consumer brands. JLL is a professional services and investment management firm offering specialized real estate services. Link to details


Middle-market private equity firm, Gryphon Investors (San Francisco, CA) completed a majority investment in Jensen Hughes (Baltimore, MD), a consulting firm specializing in fire protection engineering, fire code consulting, and related life safety services in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Keystone Associates Architects, Engineers and Surveyors LLC (Binghamton, NY), along with Williams & Edsall Land Surveyors (Owego, NY), has acquired the land surveying records from David Marnicki (Vestal, NY). The records date back to 1873 and provide the two firms with 142 years of land surveying data primarily for the southern tier of New York and northern Pennsylvania. Link to details


Engineering and environmental firm, Fehr Graham (Freeport, IL) acquired Coombe-Bloxdorf (Springfield, IL). Coombe-Bloxdorf is a 16-person civil and structural engineering, and land surveying firm. Link to details 


GUY Engineering Services (Tulsa, OK) acquired Nicholls Consulting (Owasso, OK), a bridge and structural engineering firm. Guy Engineering Services provides engineering and planning services to various city, county, state, and federal agencies as well as individual developers and corporations. Link to details


COWI (Lyngby, Denmark) (ENR #211) acquired Teknisk Data A/S (Oslo, Norway), a company that specializes in the offshore wind energy sector and large bridges. The acquisition strengthens COWI's position as a leading consultant in offshore windmill foundations, floating bridges, and maritime projects. Link to details


ENR's #31 ranked top global design firm, AF Group (Stockholm, Sweden) acquired all the shares in Erstad & Lekven Oslo AS (Oslo, Norway). The merger strengthens AF's project management and construction management offering in the Oslo area and South-eastern parts of Norway. Link to details


Fluor Corporation (Irving, TX) (ENR #3) and Stork Holding B.V. (Utrecht, Netherlands) announced today that Fluor has signed an agreement with private equity firm Arle Capital Partners (London, UK) to acquire 100 percent of Stork Holding.
