The use of Web sites for project management and recruiting continues to increase significantly, according to a recent ZweigWhite survey.

Project Web site use has jumped from 46% to 62% over the past year, and 80% of the survey's respondents indicated that Web sites have been at least somewhat effective in improving project management.

"There can't be any doubt that the Internet is changing the way design and construction professionals do business," said Rich Friedman, a principal with the Natick-Mass. based ZweigWhite. "Its impact goes far beyond Web pages and project Web sites—the Internet is changing how firms design, recruit, market, procure, manage knowledge and more."

For example, 38% of surveyed firms said they received qualified leads from their Web site last year, and 74% of those leads resulted in jobs.
