Courtesy: Schneider ElectricSchneider Electric's Square D I-Line Smart Cell unit fits onto the I-Line bus in place of a breaker to seamlessly transform the I-Line panelboard into a digital communications or metered electrical distribution solution. The unit is available in four configurations and meets NFPA 70: National Electric Code (NEC) 240.87 requirements for reduction of arc energy. It enables easy installation of EM3555, allows breaker data to be provided to external monitoring systems, and provides intelligent data at the breaker level. The Smart Cell's design eliminates the need for I-Line box extensions, which increase the equipment's footprint. The modular unit uses the plug-in I-Line design, requiring only a screwdriver for installation.
