New Products for HVAC Systems and Controls

Hourly analysis program for calculating and certifying energy savings can now be used to receive energy-efficiency tax deductions under the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) 2005, one of four software programs to receive this approval. EPAct 2005 allows commercial building owners and leaseholders to claim a federal tax deduction for installing energy efficient equipment. Cost-estimating software for HVAC controls allows users to create cost estimates and customized proposals. It includes three modules that comprise the entire software suite, including: an estimating software program; a parts-requisition software program; and a central database program. Natural gas-fired boilers and water heaters now have 20:1 turndown. The manufacturer claims that this makes them the most efficient models in the 1 million BTU/hr. category.
