IR flame detector senses radiation in five discrete infrared wavelengths for early fire detection of both hydrocarbon and certain nonhydrocarbon-based fires. The unit outputs alarm information via relay, current loop or Modbus over RS-485, and uses a patented fire event analysis algorithm for rapid fire detection and false-alarm immunity. Fire alarm CAD program for Microsoft Windows employs aspects of AutoSPRINK fire sprinkler software. Icons for control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, modules and meters possess editable properties that define equipment behavior. Digital video recorders for CCTV applications feature built-in networking and a recording speed of 60 pictures per second. The nine-input unit, which also includes programmable main and spot monitors, is ideal for mid-size applications such as convenience stores or small buildings. Multi-site video security system is now available in an enhanced version that is compliant with British Standard 8418. BS8418 is said to provide clear guidance in regard to the positioning and configuration of detectors, cameras, lighting and audio equipment. New features include preset on alarm, zone isolation and total systems integrity, the latter of which is to ensure that the system runs even during power outages or when lines have been intentionally cut.
