New Products for Electrical Applications

GFCI product line has been updated in response to changes in UL 943 Safety Standard for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters. The UL revisions, which take effect on July 28, 2006, require a GFCI to deny power if the receptacle face is miswired, and to either deny power or visually or audibly indicate when ground fault protection is lost. Fiber optic cables are available with fiber counts ranging from 1 to 216 in multimode, single-mode or hybrid versions. They are fiber-optimized for laser-based protocols, and are fully compatible with LED systems. The cables provide guaranteed link lengths for multi-gigabit transmission while maintaining compatibility with existing installed FDDI-grade cable. High cycle break motors with cast aluminum footless frames for increased thermal dissipation have a DC brake with integral rectifier to provide for faster action than traditional spring-set brakes. These motors feature a low inertia design better suited for continuous start/stop applications and are available from 1/2 through 2 hp in NEMA 56C through 145TC enclosures. Terminal blocks are said to offer a finger-safe alternative to traditional double-row models. The compact size saves valuable space in tight applications, and built-in screw holes make mounting easy. Wide amp and wire ranges are available in ratings of 20-50 amps and 22-8 AWG (solid or stranded conductors).
