M/E Insider: EYP Promotes 3 to Principal; Durrant Hires New Mechanical Director


• EYP Mission Critical Facilities has promoted three employees to principal this summer: Bob Schuerger, CFA , Los Angeles; Tom Squillo, CFD , Chicago; and Mike Thomas , marketing and business development, Chicago. In addition, David Chau, CFD , Los Angeles; Joaquin Fuster, CFD , Los Angeles; Joseph Salvatore, CFD , New York; Phil Stitzel, CFA, Middletown; Arthur Zeltser, CFD , New York City, were all promoted to senior associate.

• Durrant has hired Don Swanson, P.E ., as director of mechanical engineering for its 13 offices, as well as manager of mechanical engineering for its Des Moines, Iowa headquarters. Swanson has more than 30 years of civil and M/E engineering design and management experience, as well as P.E. licenses in nine states.

Engineers from Buro Happold , New York, working with Norwegian architect Snohetta , have completed the scheme design for the WorldTradeCenterCulturalCenter, which will occupy a portion of the ground zero site in Manhattan. Buro Happold will provide the structural, M/E/P and sustainability engineering work for the project.

Smith Seckman Reid have promoted two employees, both in the firm’s Sarasota, Fla. office, to vice president: Bruce Loeppke and Michael Dobbs . Loeppke's responsibilities include leading design teams, managing projects and overseeing mechanical engineering for clients. Dobbs will be responsible for leading an 11-member, multidiscipline team specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and medical communications engineering for healthcare and high tech buildings.

• CH2MH Lockwood Greene , Spartanburg, S.C., announced that it is providing industrial planning, facility design and program management for PACCAR’s heavy truck assembly and parts fabrication plants in Mexicali, Baja CaliforniaNorte, Mexico. The expansion will increase the assembly plant’s capacity while maintaining existing assembly operations and will also involve the addition of a standalone parts-fabrication facility.
