• ABB, New Berlin, Wis., says that its ACH550 variable-speed drive for HVAC applications is the first and only drive of its kind to date to be approved by the BACnet Testing Laboratories.

• Bradley Corp., Menomonee Falls, Wis., has announced that its Ndite light-powered lavatory system, has officially been approved and listed in the current GreenSpec Directory published by BuildingGreen.

• DSC, Concord, Ontario, Canada, part of Tyco Fire and Security, has won the Product Achievement Award in the Monitoring category at this year's International Security Conference Expo West (ISC West) for its T-Link Internet and network alarm communicator (model TL250).

• Eaton Corporation has received the Frost & Sullivan 2005 Power Quality Company of the Year Award. For the second consecutive year, Eaton received the award for its demonstrated ability to increase market share and enhance the value of product ownership for its existing customers.

• In-Sink-Erator, Racine, Wis., was presented with the Governor’s Export Achievement Award by Secretary Mary Burke of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce during the 41st annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference at the Italian Community Center in Racine.

• Johnson Controls, Inc., Milwaukee, has been awarded the 2004 national safety award from the National Petroleum Refiners Association (NPRA).

• Lutron Electronics, Coopersburg, Pa., announced that its Sivoia QED roller 64 shade system, and its EcoSystem ballast for fluorescent lighting control both brought home New Product Showcase Awards from the most recent LightFair International tradeshow.

• MGE UPS Systems, Costa Mesa, Calif., has been awarded Frost & Sullivan’s prestigious 2005 Product Line Strategy Leadership Award. With this Award, Frost & Sullivan recognizes MGE’s insight into customer needs and product requirements for protecting desktop PCs to enterprise networks to large data centers.

• Severn Trent De Nora, Fort Washington, Pa., has been issued Canadian patent number 2,111,274 for its Omnipure electrochlorination system for the on-site treatment of wastewater containing suspended solids in the marine environment.

• Systimax, Richardson, Texas, has announced independent and extensive tests witnessed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) have confirmed the Alien Crosstalk performance of its GigaSPEED X10D Solution, which is designed to support speeds up to 10 Gb/s.UL confirmed that the product complied with the Alien Crosstalk requirements as stated in performance documentation.

• York International, York, Pa., is among those selected—and in fact, the only HVAC/R company chosen—to receive a 2005 Climate Protection Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its pioneering work and ongoing development of energy-saving technologies applied to chillers.
