HVAC Industry Roundup: STB teams with Cybosoft; Sullair celebrates its 40th

• Siemens Building Technologies, Buffalo Grove, Ill., has signed an agreement with CyboSoft, Rancho Cordova, Calif. CyboSoft’s model-free adaptive control technology will be paired with SBT’s BAS to launch a new adaptive control system.

• Sullair Corporation, Michigan City, Ind., celebrated its 40th anniversary this summer. The company began manufacturing its portable air compressors in 1965, before expanding to stationary rotary screw compressors.

• Taco, Cranston, R.I., took home a Best in Category award at the Mecanex/Climatex trade show held earlier this year in Montreal. The company’s Radiant Mixing Block won in the Hydronic Heating category.

• Metal-Fab, Wichita, Kan., is now offering a lifetime warranty on its G Series factory-built grease duct systems for use in venting Type I and Type II kitchen ventilation hoods.

• KMC Controls, Houston, has formed an alliance with HVAC Capital Corporation of Houston to provide a leasing-like financing program for the installation of controls projects. The program is described as a sales tool for KMC distribution partners and a budgetary solution for facility owners or trustees.

• NVent, LLC, Allentown, Pa., a joint enterprise of Nibco and Victaulic, won best overall product in the New Product Showcase and Best Product in the Piping/Plumbing category at the International Sanitation and Heating (ISH) North America tradeshow for its PermaLynx, a permanent push-to-connect copper pipe joining system.

• Johnson Controls, Milwaukee, has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to install heat recovery and delivery technologies at the Minas Basin Pulp and Power Co. Ltd. mill in Hantsport, Nova Scotia, using technology from Thermal Energy International of Ottawa, Ontario.

• Fedders, Liberty Corner, N.J., has opened a research and development center in the Qingpu district of Shanghai. It is the company’s largest R&D facility, joining nine others around the world and more than doubling the company’s global engineering capabilities.

• Marathon Technologies, Littleton, Mass., has partnered with BAS software developer Tridium, Inc. to enable the latter’s customers to purchase a solution that integrates with Marathon FTvirtual Server software for Windows application
