Highlights from the Sixth Annual TABB Conference

Since its inception in 2002, the Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Bureau(TABB) annual conference has grown from a small meeting of a few dozen people, to an industry standard of over 100 people—the best and the brightest in the HVAC industry. The sixth annual TABB Conference, held May 17-19 in Hartford, Conn., highlighted a year of success and laid the ground work for the challenges ahead.

Since its inception in 2002, the Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Bureau (TABB) annual conference has grown from a small meeting of a few dozen people, to an industry standard of over 100 people—the best and the brightest in the HVAC industry. The sixth annual TABB Conference, held May 17-19 in Hartford, Conn., highlighted a year of success and laid the ground work for the challenges ahead.

“TABB has kept a rigorous pace, which it has maintained since its inception.logies that evolve. We need to be ready to meet that challenge—and I think we are.”

The General Session of the TABB Conference was once again designed to be full of information that will help professionals in the TAB market. Presentations and discussions included:Green Buildings and Sustainable Technology Panel, with Howard Stine of Charles E. Jarrell Contracting Co. and Ken Senteney of Superior Air Handling Systems;

Increasing the Credibility, Defensibility, and Quality of certification through Accreditation by Dr. Roy Swift, program director, personnel certification accreditation program of the American National Standards Institute;

The International Certification Board (ICB) Report, where conference attendees were able to ask questions and make comments to members of TABB’s governing body, the International Certification Board.

An indoor air quality workshop was held by the National Energy Management Institute (NEMI) prior to the start of the TABB Conference.ed Andis. “This technician certification course will help our members demonstrate a combination of knowledge and skills that are needed to assist customers in improving and maintaining IAQ in their buildings. These skills are valuable and make these technicians an important part of an IAQ team.”

The conference wrapped up with the announcement that the Seventh Annual TABB Conference will be held in Los Angeles.
