A dual port EtherNet/IP communication adapter for the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525 AC drive from Rockwell Automation allows OEM and end users to use topologies and add support for DLR functionality. Courtesy: Rockwell AutomationA dual port EtherNet/IP communication adapter is now available for the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525 AC drive from Rockwell Automation. The communication adapter is designed to provide more connectivity options and offers device level ring (DLR) functionality over EtherNet/IP networks. The dual port EtherNet/IP card provides OEMs and end users the option of using a wide range of topologies including ring, linear and star. 

The dual port communication adapters add support for DLR functionality, which can give a system resiliency from the loss of one network connection and provides fault-tolerant connectivity for optimum drive availability. The PowerFlex 525 AC drive has a modular design that is not affected by the addition of a dual port EtherNet/IP adapter.
