According to Venture Development Corporation (VDC), demand for pressure transmitters and transducers is strong in the U.S. life sciences and automotive markets.

The firm says that the life sciences market, including the biotech and pharmaceutical segments, is expected to grow faster than any other market segment that consumes pressure transmitters and transducers. Jim Taylor, Director of VDC’s Industrial Automation and Control Practice, says, “More than $40 billion is spent annually on biotech and pharmaceutical research. That spending includes a wide range of test, instrumentation and process control equipment incorporating pressure transmitters.”

Other factors pushing this demand are biotech industry investment in research and development equipment and programs incorporating pressure sensing, monitoring and control requirements; biotech industry development of commercial systems and subsystems that include the use of pressure transmitters and transducers; and pharmaceutical industry investments in research and development and process control equipment.
