CNN report: States rolling out the red carpet for manufacturers

Manufacturers are being wooed by states looking to improve their economies with incentives and tax breaks.

A boost in manufacturing in general, a greater appreciation of overall manufacturing costs and some more business-friendly tax policies are helping several states attract and gain new manufacturing opportunities, CNN Money reported Feb. 23.

CNN Money quoted Scott Paul president of the Alliance for American Manufacturing as saying, "Their high-level sell generally includes tax breaks, incentives for training workers, low utility rates and incentives for using alternative energy."
