Honeywell Technology just won a contract to supply process simulation solutions to Casale Group , a Lugano, Switzerland-based specialist in the design and refurbishment of chemical facilities. The Honeywell technology will be applied to design of new chemical facilities around the world, helping Casale Group’s customers remove production bottlenecks and optimize their assets.

Casale Group, which is famous for pioneering ammonia synthesis in the 1920’s, will deploy Honeywell’s UniSim Design Suite across its process engineering teams to optimize process modeling and design, support best-practices and improve project execution. UniSim Design will be integrated into Casale’s business process and collaborative project execution environment, leveraging the know-how and intellectual property previously developed from other simulation tools.

UniSim Design is a process modeling solution suite that enables engineers to create steady-state and dynamic models for plant design, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, operational improvement, business planning, and asset management.

“As a process licensor, simulation is a strategic resource for the design, maintenance, and optimization of our customer’s chemical facilities around the world,” says Federico Zardi, deputy general manager of Casale Group. “We chose Honeywell’s UniSim Design for its quality and reliability, and also because of Honeywell’s local support capabilities. The Honeywell team understands our business and was able to tailor the solution to our needs.”
