• HOK's Mexico City office has been selected to design a 40-story mixed-use tower in Monterrey Mexico. When completed in 2009, the tower will be the tallest building in the city and fourth tallest in the country. Sustainability will play a key role, with elements such as rainwater collection, storage and re-use for irrigation and toilet flushing; low-flow plumbing fixtures and waterless urinals; maximum daylighting and monitored; and high-efficiency underfloor air.

• The U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed H.Res. 352, supporting the ideals and goals of National Public Works Week (NPWW). Instituted as a public education campaign by the American Public Works Assn. in 1960, NPWW calls attention to the importance of public works.
