Michael Ivanovich, President of The Ivanovich Group, has announced his acceptance of the newly created position, Director of Strategic Energy Initiatives, at the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc., in Arlington Heights, Ill.

The announcement was made by Wade Smith, executive director, AMCA International, who said, "We’re excited to have Michael Ivanovich on board at AMCA; he brings a reputation for leadership and integrity, as well as an infectious passion for energy efficiency, which will have beneficial impacts on AMCA members and the environment."

Michael successfully formed The Ivanovich Group, LLC in 2010, drawing on his diverse background that includes editor-in-chief for Consulting-Specifying Engineer and HPAC Engineering magazines; executive director for the Building Commissioning Association; senior program manager for Portland Energy Conservation Inc.; and senior research scientist for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

"I’m delighted at this leadership opportunity in an industry I’ve been devoted to for over 20 years. This move allows me to pursue my passion for energy efficiency and leverage my network on behalf of 279 AMCA members worldwide, providing strategic research, consulting, communications and training services to the buildings industry," Ivanovich said.

At AMCA, Ivanovich will lead its members as they help develop and refine energy and green-construction codes, standards and specifications; improve the level of practice in air-systems engineering and commissioning; and help position AMCA members and their products in the energy efficiency market. Regarding the status of The Ivanovich Group, Ivanovich said, “My responsibilities with AMCA are full time, but The Ivanovich Group will continue to support key clients outside the fan, louver and damper industry.”

The Air Movement and Control Association International Inc. is a not-for-profit international association of the world’s manufacturers of related air system equipment – primarily, but not limited to fans, louvers, dampers, air curtains, airflow measurement stations, acoustic attenuators and other air system components for the industrial, commercial and residential markets. AMCA’s mission is to advance the health, growth, and integrity of the industries its members serve. AMCA International, with origins dating back to 1917, has 279 members in most industrialized countries throughout the world.

The Ivanovich Group, headquartered in Oak Park, Ill., has more than 20 years in the buildings industry, with an extensive network of subject-matter and training experts, production specialists, consulting colleagues and media partners.
