A Report on Duct-Mounted Relative Humidity Transmitters


The National Building Controls Information Program (NBCIP) has released a report supplement on the performance of relative humidity transmitters. Product Testing Report Supplement: Duct-Mounted Relative Humidity Transmitters was developed with funding from NBCIP sponsors and is available free of charge on the NBCIP Web site at www.buildingcontrols.org .

The report is a supplement to Product Testing Report: Duct-Mounted Relative Humidity Transmitters that was published by NBCIP in April 2004.assess the long-term performance of relative humidity transmitters that have been exposed to a broad range of environmental conditions over an extended period of time. The stress tests were designed to subject the relative humidity transmitters to extreme conditions and, in so doing, evaluate therobustness of the transmitters. Finally, the response time test was designed to evaluate the response of the transmitters to a step change in relative humidity and is an important consideration when, for instance, the relative humidity measurement is used in the active control of a humidification process.

NBCIP is sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, NSTAR Electric and Gas Corporation, the California Energy Commission and the Iowa Energy Center.
