Amir Tasbihi, PMP; 36Tasbihi is one of the construction industry’s leading innovators in the application and integration of building information modeling (BIM), project management information system (PMIS), and data analytics software. As STV’s director of construction technology, he oversees construction software operations for the firm’s national project controls group. The company is currently engaged in more than 20 high-profile construction management projects, where its unique application of BIM 456 services allows the firm to track a project’s cost and schedule in real time via a BIM model. Tasbihi has functioned as both a key coder and software programmer as part of STV’s BIM 456 integration. He joined STV in 2013 as a senior BIM specialist. His software and coding skills made an immediate impact for the firm, as he played a key part in developing 3-D models that helped STV’s project controls group earn multibillion-dollar commissions at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Delta Terminal Redevelopment and the LaGuardia Airport Redevelopment in New York. Tasbihi is constantly striving to learn more about topics that are relevant to the design and construction industry, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. However, he also manages to find time to enjoy other activities that allow him to learn and grow as an individual. He is an avid reader. He especially enjoys books about business and entrepreneurship. To enjoy the outside, Tasbihi rides his bicycle each week. One of his favorite nearby spots for exercise is the Old Putnam Trail between Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NYC, and the Westchester County line. The path follows a now-defunct rail line.
