Stephanie Guy, PE, LEED AP; 34

Guy is project manager at Alvine Engineering in Omaha, Neb. with more than 10 years of mechanical design and project management experience. She prides herself on designing energy-efficient mechanical systems for all building types, regardless of size. She started her career at a large architectural engineering firm in Omaha where she interned after graduating with her bachelor’s degree and continued to work at that firm part time as she finished her master’s degree the following year. Guy accepted an advancement opportunity with Alvine Engineering in 2010. Since then, she has been promoted to project manager, and most recently, to a resource manager, overseeing a mechanical team of 10. In addition to mechanical design, she assists in assigning staff for all projects and provides performance reviews and professional guidance for everyone on her team. As a resource manager, Guy provides feedback and gives advice to the Alvine executive team. She proudly maintains an open-door policy for her team to discuss ideas and issues beyond the day-to-day work at Alvine Engineering. She continues to impact future generations of engineers with her involvement in the architectural engineering program at the University of Nebraska and her involvement with the national Board of Governors for the Architectural Engineering Institute. She has served two full 3-year terms on the Architectural Engineering Industry Advisory Committee. Guy runs to unwind. She has participated in several organized races including a couple of half-marathons, with her favorite race being the Market-to-Market relay in which teams race 76 miles from Omaha to Lincoln, with each team member running segments of 3 to 5 miles. In the summer, she and her family, which includes four daughters, can be found camping at one of the many campsites surrounding the Omaha area and beyond. Guy also loves to travel.
