DeRosa is a senior electrical engineer at Primera Engineers. His nearly 15 years of experience includes design of electrical systems for institutional, commercial, residential, and educational facilities. His experience also includes emergency and normal power, fire alarm, and lighting systems. He also is skilled in power distribution and emergency-power-supply systems analysis. After graduating from Purdue, he quickly found a position at Dickerson Engineering as a consulting engineer designing and specifying building electrical systems and distribution. While at Dickerson, DeRosa built a solid foundation around the architecture, engineering, and construction industry and learned how important client relations really is in the field. He has steadily progressed in his career and has gone on to join EME Consulting Engineering Group, Primera Engineers, Larson Engineering, and has since gone back to Primera Engineers, where he has been since 2010. While at Primera, DeRosa has continued to see his hard work pay off. In 2016, he was selected as the recipient of the William P. Hogan Award for Technical Merit from the Consulting Electrical Engineers Division (CEE) of the Electric Association. DeRosa has donated his time to the Oak Forest, Ill., clothing and food pantry by working there, which includes receiving items from the public, organizing them, and displaying them in the store for local citizens in need to purchase. In addition, he coaches his son’s football team and helps lead a football camp in Mokena, Ill. He also organizes a family team for the Annual Move for the Kids 5K run/walk that benefits the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. In his spare time, DeRosa enjoys playing guitar, brewing beer, and playing competitive 12-inch slow-pitch softball.
