BS Architectural Engineering, Kansas State University

Carter accepted a position with ccrd Partners in Dallas after earning his degree in 2003. His colleagues say that in his 12 years with the company, he has proven to be equally adept at project management and solving technical and electrical engineering issues. His work includes project management, design, and construction administration. He has been involved in the design of a variety of projects including hospital facilities, surgery centers, central plant expansions and renovations, and medical office buildings. Carter also serves as the company's sustainability education coordinator. He helped organize-and now directs-ccrd's internal training program. Not only is he one of the first employees at the firm to attain USGBC LEED credentials, he's the leader of an in-house team that trains other employees and prepares them for the LEED exam. So far, his training course has helped more than 40 employees attain their LEED accreditation. Carter is also a leader outside the office. He has been an active member of a local CANstruction team for 11 years. He also volunteers at the Dallas Ronald McDonald house, which in 2012 helped more than 2,200 families by providing housing and food. Carter's enjoyment of woodworking and construction naturally blends with his charitable nature when he volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. On multiple occasions he has spent his weekends in south Dallas erecting walls, prefabricating building sections, and helping out in the Habitat for Humanity resale store.
