Ferraro began her mechanical engineering career in Toronto shortly after graduating from McGill University in Montreal and has never looked back. During her employment at The Mitchell Partnership, she had the opportunity to work as the lead mechanical designer on a major renovation of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs' home arena, and on Canada's new Museum for Human Rights. Ferraro moved to Dublin in 2010, where she joined the team at Building Life Consultancy, a specialized consulting firm focusing on building envelope performance and energy efficiency retrofits. Her engineering skills-particularly thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and heat transfer-complemented the architectural expertise of the firm. With their combined skill sets, Ferraro and her colleagues taught seminars to industry professionals on risk assessment of building components for condensation or moisture damage in highly insulated buildings. Now, she is applying her combined experience to a holistic, integrated design approach in her current position at Randall Lamb. She joined the firm in 2011 and quickly escalated through the ranks of responsibility to her current position as an associate principal. She plays a key leadership role spearheading the company's sustainable design group, managing projects, leading design teams, training new designers, and developing strong client relationships. Ferraro volunteers at a local high school as part of the ACE Mentor Program, teaching students about engineering design and helping guide them through the design process on projects of their own. Although she does what she loves every day, Ferraro still values her time to get out of the office and away from it all. An adventurous spirit has made her an avid hiker and camper.
