Skelton is the founder and president of Cyclone Energy Group, a Chicago-based energy services company. As the firm's leader, he focuses on executive account management, strategic growth, and technical direction. His 14 years of experience in designs for high-performance buildings-from concept through operation-gives the company insight and vision for each project. As a consulting engineer, Skelton specializes in energy-efficient and sustainable buildings, and is recognized as an expert in building energy simulation, building commissioning, and retro-commissioning. He has worked on a wide variety of buildings and projects that include Energy Star certification, USGBC LEED certification, and net-zero energy buildings. Skelton is very involved with ASHRAE at the local, regional, and international society levels. Through his technical committee activities, he has helped implement the first-ever standard for commissioning (ASHRAE Standard 202). He encourages philanthropy through Cyclone Energy Group by enabling office team members to find and participate in quarterly community outreach programs. Recent events include park cleanups, flower gardens for a local museum, and a community garden for a low-income vocational school. Skelton is also a supporter of St. Jude's, Real Estate Ends Homelessness, the USO, and his local church. He enjoys spending time outside through running, biking, hiking, and camping. Competitive running has long been his favorite activity. He ran several marathons including Chicago, Boston, and Paris. Most of Skelton's time out of the office is spent with his family. He enjoys walking in the park with his newborn baby daughter and building LEGOs with his 4-year-old son.
