Kansas State University, BS Architectural Engineering

Though he is the author of two self-help books on love and relationships, Matthew Peterworth is better known in the engineering field as a technology specialist of 7 years, dedicating his skills in electrical design. Peterworth currently works in the low-voltage design department as a technology specialist where he designs telecommunications systems for commercial construction projects and also assists in designing audio-visual, security, and electrical systems. In 2011, Peterworth was employed by the University of Texas at Austin where he updated the university’s BICSI Division 27 standards and eventually took over design responsibilities for all outside fiber optic cables for the entire building campus. When the university partnered with ESPN for a $300 million contract, Peterworth was at the forefront in leading the design of more than 17,000 ft of fiber that was used in the wiring of ESPN and the University of Texas at Austin athletic venues. Peterworth has become a regular speaker, presenting at several national BICSI conferences, and also a frequent contributor to national publications. He also has been commended with three Toastmaster International awards for his numerous speeches on IT and a sustainable future. His upcoming projects include the St. Paul Saints’ Lowertown Ballpark and a six-story academic building at Kean University in Union, N.J. In Peterworth’s off-time he is an active runner, participating in half-marathons whenever he can. He enjoys attending music festivals, particularly indie rock, all around Kansas. Peterworth is in the process of completing his second self-help book on love and relationships, which he plans to self-publish in 2015.
