Principal and co-founder of Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, Daniel Zimmermann has established himself as an innovator in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consulting and engineering world. Zimmermann began his career as a student intern for a leading regional architecture/engineering firm, and within a few years was promoted through the ranks of associate, senior associate, and finally chief mechanical engineer. With all the experience and knowledge gained, he left the firm and established Cleary Zimmermann Engineers in 2006. Zimmerman and his associates focus their efforts on client services and engineering systems that complement and enhance the architect’s design. He and his partner launched a business model in 2006 that led to the firm’s exponential growth from a staff of six and revenues of $1.4 million to a staff of 40 and revenues of $6.2 million by 2013. He has experience in designing both mechanical HVAC plumbing and fire suppression systems for academic facilities, hospitals, surgery centers, and research laboratories. Zimmermann was given the San Antonio Business Journal “40 Under 40 Rising Star” award and also received the University of Texas San Antonio award for Board Member of the Year. Zimmerman has published articles in the San Antonio Business Journal on the process and benefits of creating sustainable energy-efficient buildings. He actively serves as a member of the Comal Education Foundation and as corporate secretary for the Evans Ranch Homeowners Association. As a licensed private pilot, Zimmerman owns his own Beechcraft A36 Bonanza airplane that he often flies around Texas for project-related meetings and work activities. Zimmermann balances his work life and his free time by spending time with his wife and his three children. He also occasionally hunts and fishes.
