Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing the most talented young individuals in the engineering community supporting the building industry. We want to shape the future of young engineers, and will do so by recognizing and encouraging them through mentoring articles in the magazine, young engineer networking events, and the 40 Under 40 program.

The Consulting-Specifying Engineer 40 Under 40 program honors the 40 most talented young professionals supporting the building engineering community and recognizes their accomplishments. Nominate someone to stand among the past Consulting-Specifying Engineer 40 Under 40 winners who have made their accomplishments known.

To qualify to be a 40 Under 40 winner, nominees must work in the building community, be 40 years of age or younger (as of May 1, 2018) and be nominated by a supervisor, academic advisor, peer, mentor, public relations professional, project leader, or other person directly involved in their career progress.

Note: Individuals whose work is related exclusively to single-family housing, structural engineering, or civil engineering are NOT eligible.

40 Under 40 program awardees will:

  • Bullet Be highlighted in major media arenas as a Consulting-Specifying Engineer 40 Under 40 winner.
  • bullet Be offered networking opportunities with other 40 Under 40 awardees, enlarging their professional circle.
  • bullet Increase the exposure of the company by highlighting projects the young engineer has worked on.
  • bullet Improve the company's recruitment efforts by showcasing young employees.
  • bullet Receive a plaque to show off their accolades.

Nominations are due January 26, 2018 | Supporting materials are due February 9, 2018 (11:59 p.m. PT). Nominees will not be considered unless both the nomination form and supporting materials have been submitted.
