Carter & Burgess Forms Design-Build Alliance

In order to upgrade its design-build delivery services, the Boston office of Carter & Burgess has paired with Konover Construction Corporation (KCC) to target the warehouse/distribution center market in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

The new alliance, Carter & Burgess/Konover, is a strategic match, according to Steve Schein, senior vice president with Carter & Burgess, the 62-year-old, national A/E firm. “By joining forces with Konover, we team with a regional construction powerhouse that has the management depth, development experience and strong marketing focus needed in the warehouse/distribution center market,”

KCC, with offices in Farmington, Conn., and Columbia, Md., is a $250 million commercial construction company that has served the eastern United States for more than 40 years, with a specialty in retail construction.

“As more companies seek better use of their real estate and financial resources, design-build warehouse/distribution projects will be a key component of the construction market,” explains Tom Rousseau, vice president of business development for KCC.
