The 2021 Edition of NFPA4, Standard for Integrated Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems provides the process, methods, and documents for integrated testing of fire protection and life safety systems. Various codes including the International Building Code, International Fire Code, NFPA 1, and NFPA 101 have adopted NFPA 4 and certain occupancies now mandate NFPA 4 end to end integrated system testing and documentation. The speaker focuses on the new NFPA 4 adoption in Building and Fire Codes when NFPA 4 is required, who’s involved, how this new process interfaces with commissioning providers, and the steps in the integrated testing as it relates to fire protection and life safety systems, and includes interfaces to other systems including BMS, lighting control, audio/visual, etc. Learn about the fire safety roles of the new Integrated Testing Agent (ITA) who is responsible for review, documentation, and testing the needed integration/ interfacing between fire protection and life safety systems across various systems.
