UC Davis Extension Announces Fall Engineering Courses
UC Davis Extension announced that this fall the university's Engineering and Science department is offering courses in fire protection and building design.

The following courses will take place October through December 2007 in Davis:
Fire Alarm and Detection Systems examine the fundamentals of fire protection signaling systems. Code requirements for occupancies as well as basic codes and standards governing design will also be reviewed. Instructor Gary Rose has been a fire protection engineer with the U.S. General Services Administration for 14 years. The class is scheduled for Tuesdays, Oct. 9 through Dec. 11, 6-9 p.m.
Building Design for Research Laboratories explores, in conjunction with the 2007 California Building Code,for Friday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Building Design for Hazardous Occupancies focuses ondesign requirements. Also taught by Jerry Cunningham, the class is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
