ASHRAE’s 2008 Winter Meeting will take place Jan. 19-23, 2008, in New York City. The co-located Building Information Modeling (BIM) seminar will take place 8 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at the New York Hilton. ASHRAE’s technical committee on integrated building design will sponsor the session. ASHRAE recently established a Building Information Modeling and Interoperability Steering Committee designed to develop and identify initiatives and opportunities presented by interoperability and BIM. The committee also will develop common terminology and technologies to ensure data exchange across operating platforms and software systems.
The ASHRAE seminar speakers and topics are Automating Code Compliance Checking with BIM, David Conover, International Code Council, Washington D.C.; The Promise and Reality of BIM, Christopher Wilkins, PE, Hallam-ICS, Burlington, Vt.; and Building Information Modeling and ASHRAE’s Steering Committee on BIM and Interoperability, Gordon Holness, PE, Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich.
