Solar photovoltaics for lighting projects
A presentation at LightFair International focused on solar photovoltaics, providing the attendee with information on how to select the right PV option.
At "The Technology of Solar Photovoltaics in the Lighted Environment" session at LightFair International on June 5, 2014, Jeff Shields of WFLI-JAX and Stephanie Holloran of Solar Electric Power Co. focused on how clients can incorporate solar photovoltaic (PV) systems into projects. They focused on the four types of solar PV:
- Stand-alone
- Grid-tied solar
- Battery back-up
- Hybrid solar
Depending on the type of project, they said, one of the above options may be appropriate. They provided project samples, and discussed PV system controls.
