Officials at Sure Power Corp., Danbury, Conn., announced that they had taken “a ground-breaking step” by applying redundant array of independent devices (RAID) technology to generate electricity without a single point of failure.
Sure Power claims to use turbines, fuel cells and gas reciprocating engines in site-specific power-generation facilities for large-scale data centers and Web hotels. With this variety of power supplies, the system “does not depend on any individual component to operate.” According to the company, it can guarantee 99.9999 percent reliability.
