Public review open for commissioning accreditation
International Accreditation Service (IAS) Commissioning Accreditation Criteria (AC476) document is open for public comment until May 15, 2013.
The International Accreditation Service’s (IAS) Commissioning Accreditation Criteria, AC476, Proposed Accreditation Criteria For Organizations Providing Training And/Or Certification Of Commissioning Personnel, is open for public comment.
Several commissioning organizations and members have monitored the development of this document and have expressed similar concerns about aspects of the accreditation criteria and its interaction with the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) and the ICC Commissioning Guideline.
A number of issues have been identified that could significantly affect the commissioning industry as a whole and individual companies providing commissioning services.
The public comment period is open until May 15, 2013, and a hearing will be held on June 7 in Los Angeles. In addition to the items highlighted below, we encourage you to read the complete AC476 document from IAS, as well as the ICC Commissioning Guideline. The IeCC is currently under public maintenance review, and the IgCC and CC G-4-2012 will be under public maintenance review later this year.
