BOSTON, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ — Paul E. Hardy, Jr. has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of OfficeTempo — a Boston-based company that provides a web-enabled procurement solution to small and medium-sized businesses in office buildings.
As an executive with GEN3 Partners, one of OfficeTempo’s founders, Mr. Hardy had been serving as OfficeTempo’s CEO on an interim basis since the company’s formation last year. The formal appointment reflects the company’s progress to date and its favorable prospects going forward.

In addition to GEN3 Partners, OfficeTempo is backed by e-ffinity Properties, Inc., an affiliate of commercial real estate giant Brookfield Properties. OfficeTempo began service in late 2000 at select Boston locations. More properties will be added during the coming months. Suppliers currently offering their products and services through OfficeTempo’s marketplace include Corporate Express, the world’s largest business-to-business supplier of office products and services, and Flowers Online, the market leader in establishing advanced business-to-business e-commerce initiatives in the floral industry. Agreements to offer additional products and services from both national and local suppliers are being negotiated.
Mr. Hardy had been a vice president at GEN3 Partners since late 1999, responsible for leading clients in the development of new business ventures from strategy development through business planning, incubation, and launch. Before joining GEN3 Partners, Mr. Hardy was a partner of CSC/Index, Inc., where he focused on developing and implementing operational change strategies for Fortune 100 clients.
Mr. Hardy’s consulting experience includes work with companies in the telecommunications, automotive parts, banking, credit card, packaging, hardware, software, and consumer products industries. Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Hardy designed telecommunications systems at Bell Laboratories and Bell Communications Research.
Mr. Hardy earned an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and a Master of Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in systems engineering from the University of Arizona, where he was named the Outstanding Graduate of the College of Engineering.
