• The U.S. Dept. of Energy’s (DOE) Save Energy Now program has completed its 500th Energy Saving Assessment. Since 2006, teams from DOE’s Save Energy Now program have analyzed the efficiency of pumps, fans, compressed air systems, and heating and steam systems at 500 of the nation’s most energy-intensive industrial facilities.

The International Facility Management Assn. (IFMA) and the Building Owners and Managers Assn. International (BOMA) announced the publication of “A Unified Approach to Measuring Office Space,” a report outlining common definitions for floor area measurements as well as major revisions to IFMA and BOMA’s respective area measurement standards.
