New Buildings Institute Developing Advanced Guidelines
Looking to raise the bar for energy-efficient facilities, the New Buildings Institute is developing its Advanced Building Guidelines as an alternative for jurisdictions that are interested in exceeding the “conservative, consensus levels” of national building codes.
Looking to raise the bar for energy-efficient facilities, the New Buildings Institute is developing its Advanced Building Guidelines as an alternative for jurisdictions that are interested in exceeding the “conservative, consensus levels” of national building codes.
Specifically, the institute is seeking to establish measurable energy targets for high-performance commercial buildings with 30% to 50% greater efficiency levels than current widely accepted ASHRAE standards.
In addition, the guidelines will evaluate new technologies and best practices, as well as provide tools to assure performance once systems are specified and installed.
