The National Electrical Contractors Assn., Bethesda, Md.,has published NECA 402-2007, Standard for Installing and Maintaining Motor Control Centers. This ANSI-approved standard describes the installation and maintenance of motor control centers.

“Motor control centers are a key item in many commercial and industrial applications,” observed Brooke Stauffer, NECA’s executive director of standards and safety. “The photo illustrations and tables of torque values make this standard particularly useful to electrical contractors and plant maintenance crews.”

NECA 402-2007 is the second edition of a standard originally published in 1998. It has been updated to reflect current National Electrical Code rules for motor control centers, and to reference NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
