NECA Publishes New National Electrical Code Guide

The National Electrical Contractors Assn. (NECA) has released the second edition of its User’s Guide to the National Electrical Code. This edition updates the 2002 version of the guide, which is intended as a companion to the organization’s National Electrical Code Handbook.

The User’s Guide is written for students and professionals new to the electrical field. It provides information on how the code is organized and summarizes the content of each code article. The 300-page publication was written by NECA’s executive director, Brooke Stauffer. “It’s really aimed at people who are learning about the National Electrical Code for the first time,” Stauffer said. “It provides information about how the NEC is organized, how to use it when designing and installing electrical construction jobs and summarizes the content of each Code article.”

Stauffer is responsible for technical publishing and regulatory affairs at NECA, including the association’s well-known National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS) series. The User’s Guide to the National Electrical Code can be purchased at www.nfpacatalog.org .
