Recent promotions and hires

Charlotte, N.C.-based AirTight has hired Scott Blackman, former director with APC by Schneider Electric, to be a critical site support specialist. He will be supporting engineering firms, information technology implementation firms, and electrical contractors with mission critical power and cooling requirements.

Detroit-based Albert Kahn Family of Cos. elected Charles T. Robinson, PE, LEED AP, as president. Robinson is the ninth president in the firm, which has provided architecture, engineering, planning, design, and management services for 114 years. He joined the firm in 1969 and has served as executive vice president of the firm since 2004.

Chicago-based Aon Global Risk Consulting announced the promotion of new COO Mark Rochholz and the installation of a collective leadership team at Schirmer Engineering, Aon’s fire protection, life safety, and security consulting business unit. Rochholz has been part of the Schirmer team for 28 years and was promoted from his position of senior vice president.

Portland, Ore.-based Building Commissioning Assn. has appointed Timothy Staley, PE, LEED AP, as regional representative, southeast. Staley is the vice president of Comfort Systems USA energy services, and has had more than 20 years of experience in commissioning. Staley will act as a liaison between the southeast regional chapter of the BCA and the national board of directors.

Boston-based Cannon Design announced that Michael Tillou, PE, LEED AP, has joined the firm as associate vice president. Previously of Tillou Engineering LLC, Tillou will serve as leader of the Cannon’s energy services group. Tillou brings to Cannon five core staff members from Tillou Engineering: Susan B. Abrams, Anne H. Karbinos, Daniel R. Louis, Lisa Carey Moore, and Charles H. Stevenson.

Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Lectrus appointed 20-year company veteran Mike Sutley to the newly created position of major projects specialist. The company seeks to increase focus on large, complex electrical equipment center projects. Sutley was formerly the engineering and estimating manager for Lectrus in Houston.

Thomas D. Pellarin, PE, has joined Peter R. Brown Construction Inc. as vice president of business development. Pellarin is transitioning from a 20-year career with sister company PBS&J, where he most recently served as part of the company’s transportation service’s executive committee.

Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Schreder Lighting USA appointed Tim Grygera, LEED AP, as western regional sales manager. In this newly established position, Grygera will work closely with lighting specifiers, designers, engineers, electrical contractors, and architects in the west to develop viable and dynamic exterior lighting solutions.

Huntsville, Ala.-based WestWind Technologies Inc. announced the appointment of Roger Tanner as business development manager for hangar operations. Tanner has been with WestWind for six years as hangar operations manager, and is a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 20 years of aviation experience with both commercial airlines and major defense contractors.
