Recent promotions and hires
Fairfax, Va.-based Dewberry has announced several promotions within the firm’s architectural and building engineering service line. James S. Peith , Shepard L. Hockaday , PE, and Hamid Salmasi have all been elevated to associate; Shepard L. Hockaday , PE , and Keith Itzler are now associate vice presidents; Tom Petreshock moves up to senior associate; and Mike Parrish is a new associate principal.
Aurora, Colo.-based Merrick & Company announced the LEED accreditation of six new technical professionals in the firm. Dan Harrington , PE , and George Verstraete , PE , have been accredited as electrical engineers; Christine Tippett , PE , and Mike Martin , PE , have been accredited as civil engineers; and Jim Reszetucha , PE , and Mark Montano , EIT , have been accredited as mechanical engineers.
The Bethesda, Md.-based Society of Fire Protection Engineers has named Allan Freedman as an executive director. Prior to joining SFPE, Freedman was an association professional who worked on member services including education and training programs, workforce development, publications, and conference programs.
The Alexandria, Va.-based North American Insulation Manufacturers Association has named Kate Offringa their interim President and CEO; previously she was the association’s VP of public affairs.
EIFS Industry Members Association has named David A. Johnston as its executive director. Johnson’s role will be oversee several initiatives critical to further promoting EIFS’ thermal and moisture control benefits as a green, energy efficient building material.
