Recent hires and promotions

Alpharetta, Ga.-based Mactec has named James Marianetti, PE , senior principal/project manager at its Atlanta office. In addition, the company appointed Sean P. Thomas, RES , manager of its Alaska office; and Laura J. Noland has been named principal environment scientist/permitting and regulatory specialist; both will work out of the company’s Anchorage, Alaska, office.

Minneapolis-based SmithGroup has promoted Jodie Leppa, CID, IIDA , to office director of its headquarters; it also has named Roslyn zumBrunnen, IIDA , studio leader at the firm’s Minneapolis office.

George Melas has been named senior vice president at New York City-based Syska Hennessy Group Inc. Melas will lead business development, marketing and communications teams for the firm’s U.S. operations, and will be responsible for expanding international opportunities.

Boston-based WB Engineers has named Michael Quigley, PE, LEED AP, principal. Quigley—an eight-year company veteran—had been promoted from project manager to associate principal in December 2007.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Southern Industrial Constructors and Southern Crane has named Daniel P. Erwin corporate safety director and risk manager. Erwin will oversee all aspects of risk management– performing safety audits, managing workers’ compensation and emergency preparedness issues, maintaining safety records for regulatory agencies, and conducting employee safety training.

North Kingsville, Ohio-based Premix Inc. has named Jeff Cash as corporate director of sales and marketing.
